Aged 25, Jaime Alguersuari has earlier today announced his retirement from racing. In a roughly translated statement to Spanish media, Jaime confirmed there was no underlying media reason for his retirement rather that he fell out of love with racing. After a spell with Toro Rosso in Formula One as part of the Red Bull Driver development programme Jaime spent time as a development driver in a series of categories and team before participating in the inaugural Formula E season with the Virgin Racing team. Following an unexplained fainting incident during the Russian round of the series the FIA suspended his racing license pending medical tests. No explanation for this incident has been provided but Jaime has confirmed this is not the sole motivation behind his retirement.
